New Year's Resolution

According to the dictionary (2017), New Year’s resolution means, “A firm decision made on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s day to do or refrain from doing something over the course of the coming year.” Let me share my list with you and, hopefully, you will too.

2018, "New Year, New Me," or, "In With The New, Out With The Old," ever heard of these sayings before? Are you tired of hearing them? Someone came up with these sayings and, till this date, they are a hit, even though they are mostly mentioned between the month of December till mid-January. However, let's be honest: every time someone mentions it, you start thinking about yourself and/or your New Year’s resolution. Whatever it may be, you make a list for yourself in your head and after January they are all forgotten. That’s why I decided to write them down and create a vision board for myself. You can be as creative as you can, it is YOUR resolution anyway. I did notice that year after year my resolutions were written down more as goals rather than actual resolution – which is not bad; it is still something you want to work towards to. This will motivate you and you will see that slowly, but surely, you will start reaching them one by one.

TIP: vision board!

My goals/NY resolutions for 2018:

• Travel to a new country;

• Write blogs/articles more often;

• End internship program with an excellent result.

Those are my top three goals/NY resolutions for this year. I am a very goal oriented person, therefore I keep my list short and not longer than five bullets. Of course, I have more goals I want to work on this year, for example, start reading more books again and find an activity I can do with my boyfriend. However, those ones I keep in the shadows, yet I still write them down. Keep in mind the longer your list the more unrealistic it will look to you. Remember goals and NY resolutions are personal, they are seen as internal motivators and it will shape you to be the person you want to be.
