How to prepare for your Netflix date

Your're excited! You're nervous! This is going to be your first Netflix date with a potential partner. By reading this blog, hopefully you will be more prepared for that lovey-dovey, oh butterfly in your tummy moment. I am not saying that by reading this blog your Netflix date will go swimmingly, but at the very least you will be prepared. So, buckle up because here I have a couple of tips for you.

Choose a movie beforehand

It's important to choose a movie beforehand or at least to have a couple of options in mind. Doing this can save you from an awkward and/or frustrating moment later during the date. If you are already nervous, maybe it's not best to waste time searching for a movie. You might fumble with words or worse suffer through an awkward silence. You can avoid this by choosing a movie together beforehand. Or you can use this opportunity to ask your date a couple of questions so you can get to know them better. This could strike up a pleasant conversation with them. For those who are loquacious, or in another word talkative, you might want to tone it down a bit. Often you might miss an opportunity to learn about your date this way and/or your blasting them with a mountain of (uninteresting) information. Try giving your date the chance to react to what your saying.

Snacks and Drinks

You might be thinking that it's obvious to buy some snacks and drinks for your Netflix date. But there is more to this. Is this your first date with this person? Who will be hosting? What kind of snacks and drinks does your date like? All of this may play a role in whose buying the snacks and drinks and what type of snacks and drinks will be bought. Talk this out with your date. If you suspect this date might end up with some lovey-dovey, then try to not choose snacks or drinks that will make you gassy or give you a bad breath. Are you lactose intolerant? Then avoid product with milk in them, like ice cream. If you have IBS, try avoiding snacks and drinks that would make it worse. It can be embarrassing during your date if you can hear your date's bowel movements. Wait till your both more comfortable with each other for them bowel movements noises ;)

Hygiene

Hygiene is always important. However, do try to take extra care of it for a date. You want to give your best impression and having bad hygiene impedes you from giving one. Brush your teeth, use floss and mouthwash. Do it in the following order. Use floss or "tandenstokers" first to remove any food residue you might have between your teeth. You could even dab the "tandenstoker" first in your toothpaste before using it. Then use your mouthwash (if it doesn't have fluoride in it). Afterwards brush your teeth. After your done brushing your teeth, do not rinse your mouth out with water. Just spit out the excess toothpaste. If you have a mouthwash that contains fluoride in it, then you could rinse your mouth out with the mouthwash. Here is an article that explains why it is best not to rinse out your mouth with water after brushing your teeth. Take a longer shower than usual. Wash yourself thoroughly. Shave or give yourself a touch up (trim, line up) if needed. And MEN!... even you have to shave too. At the very least, it would be wise if you do. As (too much) hair can trap unpleasant odors down there. If the date ends with some lovey-dovey action it's best to be prepared ahead of time for this. The reason he or she or them is gagging down there might not always be because you're blessed with "length".

Pick a nice outfit

Take your time to pick a nice outfit. You would find that most women actually take their time picking an outfit. Men should follow suit. It shows that you're actually interested in this date and want to look good. Your outfit does not need to be new. Just make sure it's not your (average) everyday clothes. When your done with your outfit you can put some cologne/perfume on. Do not overdo it, though. Sometimes even I am guilty of this. Overdoing it can give your date a headache as the smell would then be too overpowering. You can spray yourself once near your chest and neck area. You can also spray or dab a little bit on your wrists.

And there you have it folks! The basics on preparing for a Netflix date. Go out and have fun! Don't be nervous. If it's meant to be, then you have nothing to worry about. But do follow my tips, they certainly could help you.
