Easy New Year Resolutions
It’s a new year! You’ve been thinking about a couple resolutions for this year but did not see the point in planning some. Perhaps you did not commit to them last year and you do not see the point now; maybe they were hard to achieve or you had too many resolutions? No problem! I got you! I’ve come up with 5 (easy) New Year resolutions for you to do. This list is composed of resolutions which are actually good for you mental/physical health or your wellbeing in general. Come! Let’s take a look!
Drink two more cups of water everyday
Now let’s be honest! How many cups of water are you drinking daily? Maybe it’s time to increase it with two more cups of water. You may not like water, but water is so beneficial for you. Dehydration, which can cause unclear thinking, mood swings, overheating, constipation, and kidney stones, can all be avoided by drinking plenty of water. Water benefits your body in the following ways:
It helps your body in maintain a normal temperature.
It helps lubricate and cushion your joints.
It helps protect your spinal cord and other sensitive tissues.
It helps eliminate waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements.
Furthermore, you could take this resolution further by walking around with a bottle of water. Believe me, you will get used to drinking water. Soon enough, you won’t be able to even get enough of it! However, do not drink TOO much water.
Read (and finish) a book
Did you just buy a book, and it’s sitting there getting dusty? This year is THE TIME to pick it up and start reading. To get lost in the pages of a book feels amazing! It will help you relax and maybe even escape from reality for a moment. You can even download a book on your phone. If you want to make your own choices in a book, why don’t you try downloading interactive novels? An example would be “Choice of Games". It contains a library of interactive novels, meaning you can control the story! Choice of Games can be both found on Google Play and Apple Store.
Cook dinner at least once a week
We’ve all been there. You get home after a long day, and now it’s time to cook. BUT… you do not feel like it. So you take out your phone and order some food. The next day you do the same thing, and the next day, again. In the end, you notice how much money you’ve spent on take-out. You get disappointed in yourself and think maybe it would’ve been better if you cooked more often. Well! This year it’s going to be different! This year you will commit yourself to cook at least once a week. Trust me, your wallet will thank you. Try cooking a lot of food so you can eat some homemade food for a couple of days.
Look after your finances
It’s always good to save some money. Why not start now? Guess what? If you want that new laptop, phone, shoe, cologne, etc., however, it’s more pricey than what your wallet can currently handle right now, then start saving! Start putting some money in your savings account monthly. After some time, you’ll notice you’ve saved up quite the amount. Furthermore, this would come very handy in times of emergency!
Get out of your comfort zone
Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but felt it was out of your comfort? Try doing it this year. It is now or never, baby! Stop thinking about all the negative things and start focusing more on the positive things by stepping out of your comfort zone. The beauty of this resolution is that it can be repeated, and your goals may be anything:
Take a class in something you've never done before;
Tryout for a sports team;
Join a dating app
Work to overcome a fear.
If you keep trying new things, learning new things and moving forward, 2022 could be the most gratifying year of your life.
